Currently, {SS} has 4 assault ranks and only 3 of them being attainable by recruits. The ranks are. . .
Disciple
Basically the "noob" rank. You will be evaluated while a Disciple of The Society. You have no say over anyone else, but everyone else has a say over you. Terrible, I know. But, usually it only lasts about 2-weeks since the evaluation period is only about 2-weeks.
Cavalier
The second rank of The Society attainable by a member. All members will move to the rank of Cavilier straight out of their evaluation period. Once a member has become a Cavalier, they will begin their training. There is no typical period of time for one's training to be over, so you could remain a Cavalier for a long time.
Vigilante
Ultimately, this is the "veteran" rank & also currently the highest rank that a member can attain. The only way to become a Vigilante is to prove that you are truly loyal to The Society.
Last but not least. . .
Sage
The highest rank. At this time there can be no other Sages than Siphen and Skammer.
